Law Student Associate Programs

As a national boutique law firm concentrating in federal court Securities Litigation and public company Mergers & Acquisitions and  Restructurings and Workouts, The Basile Law Firm P.C. is also a national leader of law student development offering law students 3 different participation programs. Each of our programs are designed to provide law students with experiential learning experiences outside the classrooms, in a real world working environment. The firm treats all LSA's as attorneys and all LSA's are assigned an attorney supervisor/mentor for the length of their program. The programs have been developed and are supervised by former law professor, Mark R. Basile, the managing shareholder of the firm. All of our programs include direct supervision by a licensed senior attorney, group learning sessions, as well as case participation in oral arguments, trials and outside networking/social events.

What can you expect from time at the firm? You will hone your research and writing skills while assisting in the development of pleadings, motion practice, discovery and pre- and post-trial preparations as well as your participation in attorney client matter strategic planning and review meetings. Your research and writing capabilities will be tested and improved; you will interact with several of the firms attorneys, clients and opposing counsel; you will observe and may participate in depositions, motion practice oral arguments, and trial. You will learn about pubic company financing, debt and capital restructurings as well as exposure to investment banking meetings involving capital raises for public companies.

We are an approved Externship/Mentor firm for several law schools including St. John's University School of Law, Maurice A. Dean School of Law at Hofstra University, Ave Maria Law School, The Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, and have hosted numerous law students from law schools from around the country including Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, New York Law School, Brooklyn Law School, North Carolina School of Law, Fordham Law School, and others. If you are interested in securities litigation or public company M&A/Restructurings, and would like to apply for one of our programs, please contact Donna Basile at Donna@thebasilelawfirm.com for further information. LSA Externship Program

Our most popular program, many law schools offer Externship/Mentor programs as an alternative or compliment to in-school clinics and course offerings. Externship programs usually require at least 140 hours of time working at a firm for course credit and require weekly or monthly progress reports to your school's programs supervisor.
